Omar is one of the most influential radio personalities in the Latino community thanks to his spontaneity and humor that characterizes him, immediately connecting with the audience. The youngest of seven children, Omar arrived from Mexico to the United States at the age of 15. He graduated from San Fernando High School, and after two years of studying Computer Science at California State University of Northridge, he decided to join a Communications and Broadcasting institute.
Omar began his career as a professional broadcaster in 1996, replacing Pepe Barreto in 2003 at the legendary station K-LOVE 107.5 FM in Los Angeles, a position he held for 18 years. Omar really enjoys his family life, cooking, playing golf, a good Mexican dinner and friends. Omar, along with his wife Argelia, have become the ideal couple #couplegoals of the Hispanic media.
The dynamic combination of beauty, joy, down to earth and incredible personality have made Argelia Atilano one of the most beloved Latina broadcasters in the radio and television industry. Argelia became the first member of her family to attend college earning two degrees: Communication Sciences and Literature in Spanish from Loyola Marymount University. In 1997, Argelia received her first opportunity as a reporter and anchor for Telemundo's local newscast KVEA-52 in Los Angeles. In 2001, she joined the Univision Radio and Television network, collaborating on national programs such as Primer Impacto.
In 2003, she was named co-host of the morning radio show on K-LOVE 107.5 FM with Omar Velasco, whom she married in 2007, becoming the audience's favorite couple. Argelia's commitment is to help and contribute to the education, self-improvement, personal growth and knowledge of the Latin community, focusing specifically on girls and women. In her free time, Argelia enjoys nature, exercise, hanging out with friends, and a good glass of wine. Besides traveling and watching movies, spending quality time with her family is essential as her most important role is being a mother to her two daughters: Camila and Anabella.
Omar Velasco and Argelia Atilano debuted on Univision Radio in 2003 as the main hosts of the popular morning radio show “El Show de Omar y Argelia'', which recently completed a successful run of eighteen incredible years of being on-air. Somewhere along the line, Omar and Argelia fell in love and in June 2007, they got married!
